“Power With Grace”.
We are so proud to introduce ALYSON PRO. 10 years of the ALYSON platform has brought us to this powerful conclusion. We have taken everything we have learned from the platform and created something very special indeed. All of the characteristics of a true ALYSON brought up to their highest potential.
From the multi layered cabinet body and sub-baffle, to the carefully selected hardwood baffles, we have spared no expense. With all new crossover design and internal parts, ALYSON PRO performs like nothing we have created before. Speed accuracy and timbre to a higher level.
As always, we include the finest coils and capacitors, pure silver solders, top notch internal wiring and the state of the art in driver technology. Each component is tested, auditioned and chosen for its overall ability to convey the clearest possible window into the live performance.
Like all previous ALYSON models, ALYSON PRO was born from a true near field monitor. Not only does the speaker excel in the studio, we have designed it to shine in the home environment as well, and within reach of most studio and music lover’s pocketbooks. You see, these are not just machines to us, they are instruments, and will continue to thrill for years to come.

Aloha,
As an artist, it is always tough to round out a series. You want to put all you have learned into that one final piece. All the skills and technical parts of the creations you built along the way must come together in that final painting or sculpture. It is at this time the influences on our life and work come to the surface. The ones who critiqued the preceding pieces and the opinions they shared with you about your work. Did it matter? Did it count? Did you listen? I did.
The one person I listen to the most and am influenced by more than any when it comes to my art is my mother. Her talent flows forward like a blazing sun. Her support is like none other. Her opinions matter and so does her art. Each one of her pieces a continuation of the last. Each lesson she learns is utilized in the next canvas. Every stroke a direct result of her previous painting. Each of her finished pieces so different than the last, yet so similar. A true example of the lifelong series in flux.
Just like my mother’s influence on my life and work, this speaker is many lessons in time learned from all the previous pieces in the series. A reflection of all that was learned from the previous speakers I have created. The result of what was said in those critiques and what I heard from them. A specimen of what knowledge was gained over the last 10 years. One more step in my own life long series. I give you the JANE JKM.
Further details to come…
Thanks mom…

Aloha,
The speaker systems created at JWM ACOUSTICS are truly the pride and joy of the collection. Each piece is hand crafted and unique. Each wood and finish chosen for a design is painstakingly tested and matched for timbre. Whether it be the ALYSON AML or the NET-1, it was created to bring a lifetime of joy and pride of ownership. Every speaker created at JWM ACOUSTICS uses the best quality components available. This includes the finest coils and capacitors, pure silver solders, top notch internal wiring and the state of the art in driver technology. Each component is tested, listened to and chosen for its overall ability to convey the clearest possible window into the live performance.
The ALYSON AML was born from a true near field monitor. But when you tune that monitor to thrive in every real world environment outside of the studio, dress her in some pretty cabinetry, solid hardwoods, piano lacquers and the best components available, now we have something! A design within reach of most music lover’s pocketbooks. One that will also continue to thrill for years to come. You see, these are not just machines to us. They are instruments.

Aloha!
I am proud to announce the birth of a new and exciting speaker system. NET-1. A small system born from the DNA of a near field monitor, with all the gusto of a full sized, room filling system. The NET-1 is designed to be as accurate as any Hi-End system in the world, yet fit into a smaller space. JWM ACOUSTICS’ NET-1 is perfect for those searching for a system to use in a smaller family room, office, or study and of course, recording studio. Don’t let the size fool you though. This system can easily fill larger rooms with powerful and accurate sound as well.
One would think that looking at this system was like looking at a miniature version of the ALYSON AML. In some ways that is true, but in many other ways, it is not. At a glance, you will see the NET-1 has the very same tweeter driver and wave guide found in her larger sister, the AML. You will also see a mid-bass driver cut from the same fabric as well. Both are modified units tuned to have nearly identical performance specification. This is also true for the crossover networks and internal wiring. The same high quality silver solders and top notch components are used in all of JWM ACOUSTICS designs.
Although it may appear to be a smaller system overall, do not be fooled. The NET-1 is a state of the art system that will image better than larger systems due to the smaller baffle design. The musicians are placed beautifully across the stage as well as to the back wall with stunning 3D effects. This also goes for the overall response of the system. Both extremes of the frequency range are fleshed out with stellar accuracy while allowing a rich and liquid mid-range. Transient effects are hair raising to say the least. This is due in part to the use of precisely made wave guides and the attention to overall time domain of each driver. The very same method used in the larger systems built by JWM Acoustics.
The NET-1 also shares the same quality construction and finishes as all JWM creations. The finest hardwoods, hand polished lacquer finishes and of course attention to every detail along the way. These tiny wonders are treated as though a full sized piano is being created in the shop. From first cut to final polish and tuning, these machines are handmade, one pair at a time. They are truly musical instruments to be treasured for many generations.
We hope you enjoy these instruments as much as we do. They are truly remarkable.

ALOHA,
KAREN 12
About a year and a half ago we introduced the KAREN series of turntables and accessories. A series driven by the quest for a sound almost forgotten from my youth. Since then, it has become the most popular product at JWM Acoustics.
In May of 2015, JWM Acoustics introduced the KAREN 3 at Lone Star Audio Fest. A hand built, solid wood turntable based on the REGA platform. Completely designed and manufactured in Hawaii. The idea was to show people that our $1,500.00 turntable could easily perform with tables 3 times the cost. And we did.
Later that month at T.H.E. SHOW NEWPORT we introduced the next step, KAREN 6. A $2,400.00 analog solution that floored each show goer who entered the room. All agreed that this table pushed way above its price range and had little to no competition in this range period. A constant stream of show goers agreed. In only a few months, this table has now built its own cult following. From the solid handmade monkeypod plinth, to the hand tuned power supply it is not hard to see why.
Now, once again, we decided to take KAREN to the next level. An all new concept with parts sourced from all corners of the globe. A collaborative piece that represents our finest table yet. In October 2015 at the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest you will see and hear what is possible when things are made to be simple, by hand and purpose driven.
Beautiful, Elegant, KAREN 12
The KAREN 12 plinth is made from a single large and rigid piece of wood. Alone it weighs 30lbs. The KAREN 12 is indeed a large turntable with a tremendous amount of mass for its size. As with all the tables in the KAREN series, the edges are cut at a specific angle to reduce surface vibration. The original vibration damping shape of the KAREN design has been also utilized here, but to larger scale bringing the noise floor even lower than previous models. The signature curved front also serves a purpose in diffracting internal vibrations.
As with the KAREN 6 we addressed the motor and controller in the usual JWM Acoustics manner. With further simplifications and refinement to the vibration damping mechanism and power consistency, we have increased the accuracy and dropped the noise floor even further for the entire table. The motor and electronics are recessed into the underside of the table and treated to isolate from the bearing assembly and quiet the table further.
The bearing assembly, sub-platter and spindle has also been addressed with a handmade system sourced from Argentina and built by Tango Spinner. This polished drive mechanism and bearing has extremely tight tolerances and has proven to add accuracy, pace and depth to the presentation. The three belt pulley system provides copious amounts of torque and drives the two layer glass platter sourced from REGA with command.
The stock arm for the KAREN 12 was carefully chosen to extend the same powerful signature sound the KAREN series is becoming known for. We chose the ORTOFON TA-210 12” static tonearm. We feel this arm/table combination possesses an elegant balance between analytical and soulful. Paired with most any cartridge on the market and you have a machine that will bring musical bliss to your home for many generations to come.
As with all JWM Acoustics products, you may customize your KAREN 12 to suit your own tastes. We have a large assortment of woods and finishes to choose from as well as the desire to build your dream table exactly as you wish. Should you have an idea for something you don’t see on our website, feel free to ask if we can custom tailor your deck for you. It’s what we do.
We are taking pre-orders for the KAREN 12 now, so feel free to contact us for further details, or a consultation on what we can do for you. We truly believe this playback machine will breathe a new life into your collection and reveal even more information locked in the grooves of every record you play. The KAREN 12 and her sisters should be on your short list of new tables to hear and we can’t wait to share them all with you.
Beautiful, Elegant, KAREN 12
JWM
Aloha,
The KAREN Turntables created by JWM ACOUSTICS, are designed with the same attention to detail as any other product from the collection. Wood, finishes and components are chosen for their acoustic properties and tuned to perform at the greatest possible level of performance. Each piece is unique and must be treated as such. From concept, to picking the materials for the plinth, to final setup, each table is hand built and tuned along the way. The design is timeless and is intended to last for generations.
A KAREN table is perfect for the seasoned audiophile, or the beginner wanting a great start into the amazing world of analog audio. For the beginner, one can choose a myriad of recommended cartridges that will suit the budget, taste and system. For the audiophile, the plinth of each table is cut for a standard REGA RP series deck. This means many aftermarket upgrades are available including arm choices, bearings, motors etc. In other words, the table can grow with the owner as the budget and system requirements grow.
As an option for REGA RP series owners, we are also making the KAREN plinth available naked. For a small service fee, we can populate the plinth with your own equipment for you, or send you all the materials you need to build your own. Either way, you are assured to have one of the biggest improvements to your system you have ever imagined. Not to mention a unique design all your own. If you decide to upgrade your existing table, feel free to contact us for a consultation.
We know the KAREN tables will be in your family for many years. We are also extremely proud of the design and options we are making available for the enthusiast. It would be an honor to build one for you and your family.
If you are a proud owner of a JWM Acoustics KAREN 3 or REGA P3/P3-24/P5/P6, we have a great modification for you. Yes, you could add on a REGA TTPSU or TTPSU II, but we took it a step further. Not only did we add further vibration control and noise reduction to this already great product, we put it in a much more beautiful package. These little gems will look great in any system. The use of internal damping material within the casework has also helped in shielding the unit from other components. The KAREN Control and motor anti-vibration circuit is a combination of the P9 power supply along with an improved P25 anti-vibration motor drive for feeding the P9 24V AC synchronous motor.
If you haven't heard any JWM or Rega turntable for that matter, driven by an outboard power supply, you have not heard it's true capabilities. More than just a power supply, the KAREN Control also allows you to switch between 33RPM and 45RPM with the push of a button.
The KAREN Control is a very serious upgrade. It's a supercharger for your turntable designed to keep noise to a minimum and speed stability at a maximum. It delivers 24V of ultra pure, low distortion power to your turntable, making the table essentially immune to voltage fluctuations and most line noise.
Clean power has other benefits as well: improved pitch stability, tighter and deeper bass, greater sound stage width and depth for a much more natural tonality.
The KAREN Control can only be used with the KAREN 3 or Rega P3/P3-24/P5 Turntables.
Have an older Rega table? The KAREN Control will ONLY work on the older Rega tables with the installation of the Rega 24V motor and power supply kit. If you would like us to upgrade your deck, give us a call and we can provide this service for a reasonable price.
Aloha,
What is a Buck Naked Plinth? Well, it’s just that! A Karen Turntable with no clothes on! Actually, just the plinth before being populated with all those fun accessories and custom upgrades. Plenty of audiophiles love to build their own decks these days. With all of the wonderful products available on the market, why wouldn’t you? We offer these plinths to you as a starting point on that wonderful journey of creating something all your own.
Each plinth available is cut to standard REGA RP series dimensions. The ultimate REGA Mod! This allows the current REGA owner to transfer their own parts over to the new plinth. In most cases, this can be done in about an hour and a half, depending on your skill level. Should you decide to choose a different arm, motor, feet, platter, etc., the bare naked option is perfect for you.
But wait! There’s more! Not only can you give your REGA, or any other turntable the ultimate upgrade, we also offer the KAREN CONTROL Box naked! This is the perfect thing for those of you who are using the TTPSU, or TTPSU 2. We supply you with everything you need to make your control unit match your new KAREN Deck. It is a fairly easy modification that should take you about an hour to complete. Now you will have two beautiful units on the shelf to look at and listen to.
What are the benefits to both of these upgrades? One: The KAREN Plinth brings a whole new level of quiet to the backgrounds. A heavier, more massive and more stable plinth can do wonders for the performance of almost any deck. ESPECIALLY the REGA. This one does it in spades by allowing the music to jump forward from a darker stage. You will notice more detail immediately and the overall grip on the music is profound. This is not snake oil, it is science. Two: The KAREN CONTROL Box actually brings down the level of electronic vibration from the TTPSU. This is primarily a result of the overall mass and weight of the box. We also provide you with a damping material that is placed on the underside of the main circuit board. Also this material is placed on the inside of the aluminum box before being inserted into the KAREN CONTROL’s outer shell. This brings down those pesky vibrations another level as well. When you plug the unit back in and listen, you will notice less noise overall. Perhaps the box helps with RF as well! You tell me! It just works…
As always, JWM is more than happy to create a custom piece to your taste. All you need to do is contact us for a consultation. This includes cutting the plinth to match the components you wish to populate your turntable with. Like the look of Maple? Done. Sapele? Done. Black lacquer? Done. You name it, let’s talk.
Pictured are some of the naked plinth options we have created so far. Check the store for current stock and option.

Aloha,
There is no doubt that some of the greatest equipment in the world has already been built many years ago. Just look at some of the collectors of old ALTEC and KLIPSCH speakers. All of those wonderful horns and beautiful folded cabinets. The wonderful sounds of the first acoustic suspended speakers. The rumble of a set of ARIELS. The memories had from the day you brought home those MAGGIE for the first time and had tingles run up your spine.
For many of us, no high tech aluminum monster or carbon fiber driver will replace that sound. A sound that we have grown to know and love more than any newcomer could possibly replace. It is for these lovers of the classics that we offer the Restoration Studio.
We are happy to breathe new life into those beloved pieces of audio art for you. From refinishing cabinets to rebuilding the crossovers, we love this work. In this day and age, there is no reason those sounds from your past can’t have a second chance to rock your socks off again. But, why would a designer of new state of the art systems do this? I myself am a lover of the classics. I would never have been in this business had it not been for a dear old friend introducing me to the world of HI-END through a pair of DBX Sound Fields. I still remember them fondly. Then, Bjorn Dybdahl of Bjorn’s Audio Video, introducing me to my first pair of Klipsch Heresy’s. I had never heard anything so powerful coming from such a small box. I bought them on the spot and owned them for 20 years. I still own the last pair of Cornwalls built by PWK and the 3 other pairs of surrounds he built to match them for a grand theater system.
When you’re ready, let us know. We can do it!

This Aeriel 10T system was completely restored and refinished. The system was finished with book matched Koa from the big island of Hawaii and finished in a 12 layer, hand polished lacquer finish. Stunning to see and hear to say the least.
What is it that goes on in the shop anyway! What do the listening rooms look like? Well, Come visit the Behind The Scenes page from time to time. We will add more pics when we can, or if there happens to be a fun shot to share. Don't be surprised if we don't clean up first or pick the socks up off the floor. The systems we build are to live in a home, not a sterile laboratory. So, why not test them in a home as well. At any rate, enjoy the shots of R&D and production. Better yet, give us a call and come play with us! We would love to show you around.
Aloha,

Aloha,
JWM ACOUSTICS has recently added several new lines of handmade HI-FI accessories to the collection. These include cable bridges, record clamps and wood upgrades for equipment feet. These can be added to our own tables and speakers, or fitted to many other brands as well.
I am often asked what can be done to improve the overall performance of any number of turntables out there. The short answer is “I don’t know. What have you tried?” You see, everyone has a different answer to this question. Is it vibration control? Is it platter damping? Is it added mass? “YES!” and “NO!” You see a turntable is a precision instrument designed to get as much out of the grooves of a record as possible. This instrument must do this without adding any of its own coloration to the mix. Much like a microscope in a laboratory whose glass must convey exactly what is on the slide to the viewer, a stylus in the groove of a record must do the same on an aural level. To help the machine do this, there are small tweaks one can make as you get to know your system.
The Turntable Accessories seen here are only the beginning. Tell us what you want, and we will do our best to make it happen for your system. Currently, we are producing record clamps and feet to help you on your way to sonic bliss. Each of these gems has been created to enhance any number of tables, but if you are confused as to which suits you best, let us know and we will try to steer you in the right direction.
Also, be assured, each of these pieces is treated as art. Like all pieces created at JWM, absolute beauty and function are a must. From the choice of wood to the finish, each piece is carefully made with pride. No less attention to detail is given to a $50.00 record clamp than to a $2,500.00 turntable. These accessories are meant to enhance your listening experience more than they are to enhance the beauty of your system. On the other hand, at JWM, form and function always play hand in hand!
As you shop for your new clamp, you will notice that each one has a weight next to it. You will also notice that each wood has a unique overall density. This is why we treat each piece as an individual work of art. How do you choose? That’s easy! All are equal in quality, whether it be monkeypod or purple heart. The difference is in the weight and density of the wood. The first number indicates the weight of the clamp, the second the density. . For example, “180/medium”. 180 is the grams of weight the clamp will apply to the center of you record. The “medium” indicates the clamp will move more vibration away from the record than a “hard” density will. Should you be looking for a more damped product, you should look for a less dense wood. Keep in mind, that the less density, the less the wood will weigh.
Confused yet? Well don’t be. Many audiophiles choose to keep many clamps for each table they use. Some choose 180gm clamps for 180gr records, some choose 200gm and feel they get more from coupling the vinyl to the platter. Some feel one record company’s vinyl responds better to one weight and density while others perform better at yet another weight and density. There is no right answer, but we have tried to take as much of the guess work out as possible and insure you cannot make a wrong choice at checkout! They are all that good…
